Dining at Birch Bay

Known for its inviting atmosphere and excellent reputation, the Bay Vista Dining Room proudly hosts events for local organizations including Acadia Senior College and the Bar Harbor Garden Club.

Director of Dining Services Brandie Mobley, Executive Chef Alec Reeves, and their culinary team create an enjoyable dining experience for residents and guests throughout the Birch Bay Inn.

Dining in the Bay Vista Room

Independent Apartment Residents can dine in the Bay Vista Room six nights a week and enjoy brunch on Sundays. The Bay Vista Room offers panoramic views of Frenchman Bay as well as a pub for a Friday night wine social or a more intimate gathering space. Reservations are welcome from Priority List members, as well as families and friends of residents.

Cottage Residents are welcome to make dinner reservations or order from our take-out menu. In our restaurant-style dining atmosphere, most offerings are scratch-made with the freshest ingredients.

The Pub

If you are in the mood for lighter fare, a pub menu is offered daily.

The Birch Bay Pub is used for a variety of events including resident wine socials and other social gatherings.

The Pub is also available as a private dining room for resident use and to host visiting groups such as Acadia Senior College, Bridge groups, Rotary Club and the Bar Harbor Garden Club.

Dining in Pleasant Cove

The elegant and comfortable Pleasant Cove Dining Room is open for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner daily. Dining options in Pleasant Cove are flavorful and healthy.

Our menu changes daily with offerings that include fresh fish, local seafood, and Maine raised beef. Our chef and team are trained to accommodate dietary restrictions and medically dictated diets when needed.

Dining in Safe Harbor

The dining atmosphere in Safe Harbor is Family Style. This environment provides comfort to our residents with dementia who may associate mealtime with memories of family meals throughout their lives. The seasonal menus promote familiarity and offer comfort foods.

In the Life Enrichment Program, residents are encouraged to assist with the preparation of snacks and cook with items grown in the Memory Garden. The dining experience in Safe Harbor aims to provide nutritionally balanced meals in a home-like dining environment.
