Good morning, Residents & Families of the Birch Bay Retirement Village community,

This email correspondence aims to share bittersweet news about our Executive Director, Peter Sullivan.  Peter has accepted a position in the southern part of the State as a Chief Nursing Officer at Piper Shores in Scarborough. Peter’s last day at Birch Bay will be June 30th.   Peter is a leader in the industry at Birch Bay and a valued peer leader at MDIH.  His skills and depth of knowledge are immeasurable, and we have been blessed to have Peter as Executive Director for the past eight years. I will miss him very much. Joy Hatfield will be serving as the Interim Operational Director and we will be working with Peter on transition plans. The operations of Birch Bay are complex, with five different licenses to manage.  It will require time to recruit a new leader and, in the interim, manage the daily operations.

I wish Peter and his family much joy as they transition to their new life in Southern Maine, and I am grateful for the time we had together.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will keep you apprised of the updates as they occur in the planning.

Regards,

Chrissi
